The year winds down

by Anand Lal Shimpi on December 29, 2003 8:53 PM EST
Christmas was fun, we had the usual dinner at my parent's place with family and friends over. New Year's will be at my place, it'll be a small deal with Vinney and a few of our friends. I've never been much for going crazy on New Year's Eve, although I would like to be in Times Square on December 31st one of these years.

We're all pretty much taking it easy these last couple of days in 2003, as next year will start off in quite a busy way. We've got a new CPU being launched very early in January followed immediately by CES, and it won't be much longer before we have to start talking about GPUs again.

Wedding planning stuff has been coming along surprisingly well thus far, it looks like we may have a date/location down but it's not solid yet. I'd like to get as much done over this break as possible, just to make things smoother in the long run...we'll see if that happens. I've been told that this will be a very tough process but I'm determined to make it as painless and wonderful (imagine that) as possible...we'll see if I'm being overly optimistic :)

With just two days left in the year, enjoy one of the last nights of 2003. Goodnight...

I hated Calc 3 :) Horrible professor + 8AM class every day + integrating across the weirdest surfaces in the strangest coordinate systems possible != fun

What was worse was when all the stuff in calc 3 came back to haunt me about a year later in some of my EE classes. Now that was bad, it was Calc 3 all over again but this time with currents and such.

Just gotta keep reminding myself that I'm almost done :)

Have a Happy New Year guys.

P.S. My conversations with Vinney are amazing to me, we talk about any and everything...there's no one topic in particular, just...everything. It's hard to explain, it's just very right :)

But still a person like him is crazy about computers. Admit it or not, if you are really passionate about something, they do tend to take a toll on your personal life even if it's only a small percentage. It's great if he wouldn't let his personal life get into business life or vice versa but it's usually hard for people.

Computers is a job for Anand, they don't overwhelm his personal life. Just like any other job. You can't tell a person by their career.

    Happy New Year Anand.

    (I need help with Analytical Geometry 3 and Calculus 3) : p

I wonder what kinda conversations does he have with Vinny. I bet most of the time he is talking about new CPUs, Motherboards and GPUs.

Then again, Internet can be so anonymous. A geek (in a good way) like him can be a genius online and be all soft and romantic type of guy with a girl (future wife).
